Man’s Hate was the project of Andi Xport of Peterborough, northeast of London. His home taping releases were filled with disgust at our modern world especially in our treatment of animals. Sprung from punk but filled with original riff-filled songs, Man’s Hate pulled no punches in the lyrics while chock full of sing-a -long melodies and hooks. Andi was a fine guitarist and overall home taper skills mainly incorporating the rock tool set. He also compiled many amazing compilations called “International Sound Communiques” and was one of my main portals into the European and British home taping scene in the mid 80s ( with addresses included in the ISC releases) . Andi also played with other projects most notably The Peace And Freedom Band with Paul Rance, Andy Savage and Andy Bruce. This all star lineup made some real fun and goofy tapes with the “who cares “ attitude inspired by punk and general home taperism.
Andi seems to have disappeared of late ( early 2016) after producing many high quality CDs and even videos. One of my absolute favorite British song stylists of all time.
