Jerry Adams
Back in the early days ( of the mid 80s), Jerry Adams and I would trade tapes and also play each others music on our respective radio shows. He had a show in Cincinnati on WAIF called “Kindred Sanction” and played lots of unusual rock. His own music was a ballsy mix of punky guitar and Detroit, MC 5 style, rock. He used lots of names for his different groups and even called himself Ashley Allen for awhile.

My first cassette experience came in around 1970 when they first came out-my grandma ordered one on her Gulf oil credit card and I figured out you could order Creedence Clearwater from the Sears Catalog…after that the next big thing was the first Tascam cassette PortaStudio in 1983 which went for about 645.00-I began LOST BOHEMIA artists co-operative and got my first radio airplay and reviews at some station in Canada. I was hooked after that-talk about some lo fi-try a drum set via a Radio Shack 4 track mixer shoved into one channel…and then my friend Mike Gregory and I figured out how to hook up 2 four track recorders together, along w/ collapsing tracks and it progressed or digressed (whatever the case) from there. The Porkopolis Label was born and I began doing compilation tapes-(about 23 sixty minute compilations) mainly for distribution to indy radio shows throughout the world. This is how I met Mr. Campau-I read one of his letters in Fact Sheet 5, replied and we’ve been in contact ever since; running the gambit w/ the likes of Bryan Baker, Russ Steadman, Chris Phinney, Don-of course- and Scott Johnson(r.i.p.).Since then the ways to record have changed somewhat, but any recording I was working on I we always had hands on input and produced it ourselves-about 3 years ago a friend of man ran all 28 years worth of stuff through protools and it is what it is. You will know me under band names like Peppermint Subway, Metro Rouge, Lost Bohemia, The Real Americans-and alas my undercover pseud. Ashley Allen-I’m working under my own name now-sometimes both-but We’re getting to break out w/ some good old White Trash from the latest from my Appalachian heritage-HOBILLY-look for us on Jerry Springer. The best place to contact me is on MY SPACE under HOBILLY JERRY…..I also still do a local and regional radio program on WAIF 88.3 on Thursdays from 8-10 pm called RADIO PORKOPOLIS-Ohio and surrounding states-mail anything to me @ to 742 Hawthorne Ave. Cincinnati,OH 45205
