    tape of the month

    Masaki "Ivy" (Stratosphere tapes 1984)

    By Don Campau | 23 November 2011

LISTEN TO AND DOWNLOAD THIS TAPE

Masaki Eguti was a home recording musician from Japan in the 1980s. The only tape I ever heard from him was actually sent to me by Rudi Tuscher from Calypso Now tapes. Because of the joyful, do it yourself abandon, this tape has always been a favorite. There are no “songs” as such but disembodied voices, guitar effects and solos, lo fi clatter…all on top of the cheap drum machine .
