Carl Howard designed this No Pigeonholes logo when the internet first began. I don’t believe it ever got used.
Jeff Olson was located in Missouri at this time and also had a project called The Screamin’ Popeyes, a wonderful progressive home taping unit. This solo tape was released in the early-mid 90s on the Spilling Audio label from Seattle run by Eric Hausmann.
A truly insane release by Connecticut’s Larry Mondello Band from 1994 was recorded on the portable cassette recorder pictured. The machine was not in good shape though with dying batteries and malfunctioning controls. Insane, yes.
Wailing out of South Dakota was Evan Peta with his gunslinging, hot guitar over rock riffage. A pal and musical colleague of Russ Stedman ( who also plays on this tape), Evan’s hard rock antics were always refreshing and musically arresting. He continues to shred today. This tape was from 1993.
As with all of the shows from the 1985-95 period this show was sourced from the original cassette tapes that I recorded them on from my SF Bay Area broadcast of “No Pigeonholes”. The first hour is broken into two parts about 30 minutes each. The second hour is all one program about an hour.
As usual, a wide array of home recorded, underground and independent music was featured.
