Dino DiMuro "DiMuro House" ( Phantom Soil 1986)
LISTEN TO AND DOWNLOAD THIS TAPE
This was the second or third DiMuro tape I had received. To me ,this was a major and personal opus bringing all the elements of Dino’s style into focus. There was Beefheartian spin, nods to progressive rock, archival drop ins, and perfect sequencing setting the wistful tone. This speaks of times past, memories of playing in the front room under a blanket as a fort, goading your brother, remembering the family pet and, above all, creating a work to preserve it all.
Dino’s early label was called “Phantom Soil”. Sometime later he changed that to Dimurotapes. I also released a lot of his more recent CDs on Lonely Whistle.
